Experience Summary
I have been playing chess for 26 years and teaching chess for over 10 years now. I've played in several competitive tournaments and placed very well in most of them including 1st place in the Magic City Classic Reserve Section and I placed 2nd in the 41st Annual World open 1400 section. I also have a lot of experience teaching people from beginner level all the way up to strong tournament players. I know of all the best chess training materials around and I use the best from all of it when I'm teaching someone.
Teaching Style
I believe in helping students learn chess in a straight-forward manner. I teach the importance of chess strategy using the 5 most important chess principles. This teaches the student to learn how to think in chess, make great moves, figure out what the opponent is trying to do and prevent them from doing it. I teach how to come up with and execute a plan, openings, tactics, king safety, and much much more.
