Founder and director of language school in Brazil providing instruction to children and adults. Gained recognition as member of LAURELS (Latin American Union of Registered Language Schools) and as an authorized center for the University of Cambridge CELS examinations. Expert in Needs Assessments (evaluation), Gap Analysis and pre-and post-training skills assessments. Maintained educational quality by mentoring teachers in effective training methods. Regularly observed classes and administered oral exams to teaching staff.
Teaching Style
There are several different methods for teaching a foreign language. I use an eclectic approach based on the needs of the student. For the most part, I employ a combination of the three different methods described below:
The Cognitive Approach: Introduces the four principle language skills for the first time (listening, speaking, reading and writing).
The Natural/Communicative Approach: Focuses on communicative competence by progressing through oral comprehension and early speech production.
The Total Physical Response/TPR: This method uses language and body movements which are synchronized through action responses and direct commands.
