Teaching Style
Motivation is the key to everything we do in life. I use this to drive my students to excel beyond what they think they are capable of accomplishing. I utilized experiential theory and real-world experiences to drive my education to make lessons relevant, fun and interesting. I utilize the constructionist learning theory where I establish where my students are with the given subject and attach new knowledge structures to support continue growth where they build their overall schema and level of understanding on a given topic. I utilize positive reinforcement and humor to keep them excited about the task at hand.
My Hobbies
I am an avid outdoors man: hiker, backpacker, river kayaker, canoeist, fly fisherman, mountain biker, runner, and rock climber. I spend many hours bird watching and exploring nature where I identify plants, trees, animals, etc. I share all these experiences with my daughter.
Other Comments
I am a life long learner, passionate about teaching and learning and love to share experiences in my life with students. I am currently applying for graduate school and substitute teaching so I am looking for part time work.
