Experience Summary
I am a Teen Librarian at the KDL Cascade Library. I have my undergraduate degree in English/Creative Writing from Hope College in Holland, MI; I earned my Masters in Library Science from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. I worked with Open Books Ltd out of Chicago, IL, running Creative Writing Workshops for grade school students 4th-12th grade. I also participated in the Reading Buddies program that helped with reading and comprehension for elementary students. I am organizing and running Teen Writing Workshops for the fall at the library. Editing and grammar is also a strength of mine.
Teaching Style
I am used to group formats, but am also comfortable with one-on-one. Examples and discussions are an important part of creative writing, as well as a willingness to share and try new things.
My Hobbies
I read plenty to keep up on current fiction and do my own creative writing on the side. I'm also a fan of video/board games, anime and manga, Doctor Who and Harry Potter.
