Experience Summary
I am an educator and a tutor with over 10+ years of experience tutoring Arab heritage speakers and non-Arabic speakers students in Arabic writing, reading and speaking. I have a B.A. in Global Studies from Arizona State University as well as a minor and a certificate in Arabic Studies and Arabic Literature and a certificate in Religion and Conflict. I also have a certificate in Arabic interpretation and translation from the International Rescue Committee in Phoenix. I have worked for the ASU as counselor.guidance and tutor as part of "student success" program where it aims at insuring academic success to new students in their first college year. I tailor my tutoring sessions based on individual student needs and learning styles. I create a rapport with students which allows them to feel at ease and build confidence in their own capabilities through the support and encouragement I provides them. All this, while making learning fun, which I believe to be an important part in helping students to develop an ongoing passion for learning.
Teaching Style
I strongly believe in a " student centric" approach to teaching. This means a student-oriented teaching style that focuses heavily on each particular student, as this style assumes every student learns in a different capacity. This means that as a tutor I might need to spend more time with an individual student, accommodating the lesson plans to fit the his or her needs.
My Hobbies
Reading, writing, hiking, cooking, Fly fishing, gardening and listening to music.
