Experience Summary
I have been tutoring science subjects since i was in high school until now, which makes it about 30 years tutoring experience:)!I was representing the Science Department of one of the top schools in Singapore, Anglo Chinese Singapore Secondary School, to participate in Science debate against other top schools such as Raffles Institution, and won the debate on television that was broadcast nationwide:)! When I studied in Iowa State University, I did well in my studies and was honors awarded for my having acquired distinction in Nutrition.
Teaching Style
I usually assessed where my students' weaknesses are and work from there. I make sure that the students are comfortable with the level that I am teaching and not feeling pressured by any difficulty but to make sure their interest in the subject is incited,having explained to them clearly and very thoroughly in an enjoyable way and yet learning to grasp the gist of the topic, overcoming any fear instilled by the areas of where the students' weaknesses lie, working on those, building up the students' confidence and skill in the subject, developing their potential to the utmost, and thus, naturally following it, with results guaranteed:)!
My Hobbies
I have 2 bachelor's degree, one from the National degree of Singapore, and the other from Iowa State university, both majoring in chemistry and bio chemistry, n with nutritional major for the degree from Iowa Sate. My hobby is to continually research things on line related to Science, and nutritional subject matter, to update and upgrade myself so that i would not let my skill and knowledge in the area of my expertise become somewhat outdated. Rather, I am always making sure that the information I provide is always the current information or the latest ones as far as possible,in order to provide the best and finest information for myself and for my student especially since studying about Sciences and Nutrition is hobby and passion which don't fade after the tuition session is over but is constantly a passion that I naturally pursue in my free time:)! With my nutritional science knowledge, I also helped many people become healthier and cure many illnesses when the usual pharmaceutical drugs they consume fails them and it's a win win situation for both my students' and their family, and me:)! I am also very interested in christian apologetic, a very intellectual and scientific approach with regards to looking and discussing about the existence of God through logical deductions and arguments, with the hope of creating interest in people to open up their minds more about the possibility of God's existence :)!
Other Comments
For all these years of teaching, there's one thing that I can say for sure:), I haven't got any student has not improved from my teaching no matter how weak they maybe in the subject:)! In fact, i have helped many students score well in their school examinations with minimal or no homework:)!
