Experience Summary
As it relates to French Language skills, I completed 4 years of French in high school and 2 years (thus far) at Stony Brook University- currently taking 400-level courses in French Literature. In my Fall Semester of 2013, I attended the Universite de la Sorbonne (IV) as a Stofy Abroad semester, wherein I recieved my Certificate of Completion, passing High-Intermediate French Language courses, including Grammar, Phonetics, 17th and 18th Century French Literature, and Art History.
Teaching Style
I believe in incorporating multiple methods of teaching language, and with such a complex topic as learning a second, or even third language I also believe in tailoring said methods to the student's specific needs. For example, if one finds a kindred with music, introducing them to french songs would be one of the stronger ways to accomplish fluency and language recognition. Depending on the student's age, I may also involve games, such as Simon Says (Simon Dit) for teaching vocabulary or even I Spy (C'est Moi L'espion).
My Hobbies
Learning languages, Playing the piano, Writing poetry and short stories, Volunteering at Food Pantries (specifically, Reston Bible Church), and Spending time with family and friends.
