Experience Summary
German
I have studied German for 7 years. I began in the 8th grade, from there it quickly became a hobby of mine. After freshman year of high school I spent 3 weeks in Holzkirchen, at a language school. When I returned I skipped a year of German. Finding that not challenging enough, I skipped yet another year over winter break. So, by spring of my sophomore year, I was in AP German with seniors. I scored a 4 on the AP exam and beginning in the fall of my Junior year I began taking classes and University of Nebraska - Omaha. It was in my junior year I applied for the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange. I won and spent my entire senior year of high school at Martin Luther Gymnasium in Hartha, Germany. I am fluent in German. I have no teaching degrees or special certifications -- but I am fluent -- and I can make you fluent too.
Teaching Style
This is your time and your money so you shape the lessons, but I do have a few things that I insist on.
- Grammar is very important and needs to be the cornerstone of all lessons, I will try to make grammar as painless as possible, but it is very necessary and frankly, I love it.
- I will try to do the lesson in German as much as possible, you may struggle a bit, but don't worry, It will help you grow much faster
- Homework is optional, but we can't move very fast if you don't practice outside of lessons
