Companies include NJ Savvy Shopper, New Jersey Resources, MetLife, Planned Parenthood and Living in New Jersey
magazines.

Senior Creative Services Designer
Conceptualize, design, layout and produce covers, editorial pages, promotional brochures and
advertisements for special section advertorials. Extensive knowledge of 4-color design and production
including electronic image manipulation, applying special effects through use of filters in Photoshop
and retouching on high-resolution scans. Interface with Scitex equipment. Negotiate prices of and
purchase photography, illustrations, pre-press work and printing. Art direct and attend photo
shoots. Develop prototypes.

Design and produce direct mail and mass merchandise materials for such clients as JC Penney,
Dillard’s and Johnson & Johnson. Maintain timely production of projects. Train assistant.

Editorial Production Manager
Manage traffic and production flow of five consumer magazines. Work directly with printers. Attend
press proofs.

Art Director
Design, layout and mechanical paste-up of covers, editorial pages and promotional materials for
three consumer magazines. Redesign magazine formats and prototypes. Hire and train Assistant Art
Director and freelance artists. Work with color separators, printers, photographers, illustrators and
stock photo houses.
Teaching Style
I like to utilize a hands-on approach to teaching in which the students are able to learn through performing the task at hand, as well as reading the process in a book. The Graphic Design field is creative and fun, and I believe learning it should be as well.
