Experience Summary
I am currently a substitute teacher and part time college instructor. I have experience working with students with learning disabilities and learning difficulties as well as court ordered interventions. In the past I have worked as part of the team approach, working with the student, parent, and teacher to ensure success of the student. I have had the opportunity to work with School Psychologists to learn various teaching techniques as well learning styles and learning disabilities. I have also worked with students in mastering grade level or base line requirements or preparing young students for Kindergarten. I have also worked with students to improve fine motor skills and performance based learning.
I have experience working with students from ages 3 to 15 in the school setting, as well as college level. Tutoring is based on the student learning type, such as visual, repetition, so on. I have also tutored small groups of same age students, home schooled students, test preparation, and assist students in “catching up” when off of school for various reasons. When working with home school students I have tutored from online lessons as well as teaching subjects when the home parent went to work or ran errands.
I have worked in the school, court system, and mental health system for over 10 years which has allowed me to gain a great perspective as well interacting with various students that have various types of needs. I most recently obtained my MBA to obtain personal and academic goals, while staying in the educational and higher education settings. I have a flexible schedule and am open to most schedules. I am available for a one hour a week session, up to multiple hours and days depending on student needs.
