Experience Summary
BS Human Biology- University of North Carolina at Greensboro
BA Chemistry- University of North Carolina at Greensboro
I recently graduated college from UNCG, and have a very good understanding of a wide variety of topics about biology. Some of the harder courses I did well in that pertain to teaching biology include organic chemistry, genetics, hormones in action, inorganic chemistry, quantatative chemical analysis, general biology, neurobiology, cellular biology, physiology, and vertebrate zoology.
Teaching Style
I have a very patient teaching style, allowing the student to learn while minimizing stress. Learning the intricate nature of biology is a difficult process and can be frustrating, but with a positive attitude and a desire to learn the student will not only learn the material, but form associations with how everything ties together. My approach to teaching and how I learned the material myself, is by breaking down large amounts of material to little "peices" that are easier to understand. By eliminating stress and fear of biology, the student can actually enjoy biology and learn it in the process!
My Hobbies
Playing Soccer
Reading
Spending time with my friends
Other Comments
In 1 year I will pursue my masters in biology in graduate school, and will go to medical school after that. I have tutored 4 friends in biology (who are in college), so I have experience tutoring as well.
