Experience Summary
I taught Nonfiction Writing, Composition and Professional Writing at the University of Pittsburgh for three years. My essays have been published in the New York Times and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, broadcast on National Public Radio, and anthologized in *Operation Homecoming* and in The Best of the New York Times "Modern Love" Column. My undergraduate degrees were in Studio Arts and English, with a minor in Art History and I encourage my students to incorporate multimedia in their work. I also encourage study of historical context for individual narratives and journalism.
Teaching Style
Patient, friendly, supportive but rigorous feedback on narratives, essays and research papers with close attention to quality of research, craftsmanship, grammar, analysis and structure.
