Experience Summary
I would like to offer my tutoring services in Arabic (for all levels) and Spanish (for beginners-intermediate), languages. Being a native Arabic speaker, and a bearer of a B.A in Spanish and English languages, I believe I can match students' expectations and requirements in terms of offering excellent tutoring to them.
I have worked as a private tutor in Arabic language (modern standard and colloquial) for international students during and after college years. Being a foreign languages student myself, I have understood and developed the techniques and methods of learning a language, and I could easily apply it to my teaching approach. Teaching/learning any language should be fun and dynamic. Knowing a new language means getting closer to its roots; it reflects culture, civilization, history and geography. I have lived in the Middle East, Russia and Spain, which helped me a lot to dive deeper into these countries' cultures and traditions.
Of course, memorizing is always essential in learning a language, but the tutor's part is to consolidate all of the information, encourage the student to speak by using interactive methods, and practicing by listening (conversations, films and songs) and talking the language as much as possible.
I am looking forward to sharing my expertise and knowledge of the above mentioned languages with students in Chicago area!
