Teaching Style
I believe that the teacher must go to the student level for effective communication to take place. To ask a student to immediately come to the instructor's level is absurd. Once effective communication has been established, learning can take place. Without such communication, teaching efforts are a waste of time, effort, and money. I also believe in the old adage that a picture is worth a thousand words - so I use pictures and drawings a lot (on the chalk board). In addition. the lecture and text should cover the same material in the same order. Separating them doubles the workload on the student.
