Experience Summary
While attending California State University of San Bernardino and working on my bachelors degree in mathematics I had many opportunities to gain experience. I was a private tutor which included students from elementary, middle, and high school. One child I tutored, who was in middle school, was very bright but had ADHD and it was difficult for him to concentrate. I worked with him for about a year and by the time he was ready for high school, he was at the top of his class and was ready to start Geometry in high school. I tutored high schools students through programs such as Upward Bound as well as Inland Counties Mathematics Project. While at Upward Bound I worked with high school students who were either going to be first generation college students or in low income families, tutoring anywhere from pre-algebra-calculus. While working for the ICMP I worked with two other college students to tutor high school students after school. I also have extensive experience tutoring mathematics for the ICMP at California State Universty of San Bernardino in the tutoring center. I tutored every level of mathematics available at Cal State to college students during my last two years of college.
Teaching Style
It is based on how the student learns. I like to explain the subject and then give and help workout examples. I learn by this method and have learned most other students do also, however some students need objects or physical representation, especially in lower level mathematics and I can accommodate every method of learning.
My Hobbies
Spending quality time with my family, going out, shopping, going to the gym.
