Experience Summary
I have over 15 years experience working in the research and information fields. I have worked as a public librarian helping students with research, works cited, and educating them on educational databases that can assist them with school. I spent 8 years as a media specialist in a lower and middle school. During my time in the school I helped students with research, paper writing, works cited, organizational styles, and even taught a yearly Russian history unit to the 7th grade students.
Teaching Style
My teaching style tends to change based on the student. I do my best to adapt to meet the different learning styles of the student. There is no one way to learn or teach, I do my best to meet the needs of the student.
My Hobbies
Rock Climbing, knitting, reading, bike riding, and playing with my kids and dog.
Other Comments
As a child, I was diagnosed early with a "learning disability", what it was called in the 1970s for everything type of learning difference. As I grew older and testing for learning issues developed I discovered that my learning problems were based on auditory issues. Today this auditory issues are "Auditory Processing Disorder". I taught myself numerous coping skills for overcoming obstacles in school. I hope through Tutor Select that I can share some of these skills, such as organization, note taking, and reasoning with you or your child. There are so many ways to learn, I want to help students learn.
