Experience Summary
My language learning career began in middle school when I chose to study Spanish. having enjoyed the language so much, I continued all throughout high school and eventually chose to continue my Spanish learning in college. I chose to study Spanish and Secondary Education. during my undergraduate work, I was recommended for tutoring Spanish at the beginning and intermediate levels. I continued that work for my sophomore and junior years. During my time in college, I was fortunate enough to have the ability to study abroad for a semester in Granada, Spain. There I lived with a host family for four months and was enrolled in 4 college level courses at the local university. It was an excellent experience that will be impossible to forget. After returning to the states, I completed my student teaching at an inner city High School and a suburban High School where I taught levels two and three of Spanish. Once student teaching ended, I received my degree and chose to continue schooling by enrolling into a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program in Albany. I am currently still working on my masters however in the mean time I have been substitute teaching for many local school districts.
