Experience Summary
I am a recent graduate from SUNY ESF with a passion for education. I am proficient in many fields of science, ranging from earth science to limnology. Although I've never professionally tutored, I have experience teaching middle school groups about aquatic entomology and forest ecology at Clark's Reservation. I have taken several classes where I learned to design lesson plans and how to properly communicate with varying age groups.
Teaching Style
My teaching style reflects the way I learn best. I find that hands on learning is by far the most effective, a fun educational memory is much easier to recall than a set of hard facts.
My Hobbies
I am very passionate about environmental conservation and public education. I enjoy volunteering at state parks and performing other acts of stewardship.
Other Comments
I live with my 3 year old niece and 1 year old nephew so patience is inherent. In only one month I've managed to teach my niece all the orders in the insect class. Imagine what I could teach your child.
