Experience Summary
I have teaching experience with both general education and special education on the middle school level as well as the elementary level through my private school experience.
I am currently a general education reading teacher who has high expectation of all of my students. My teaching experience includes working with general education and team taught settings with students who have various IEP’s goals and objectives for the past 6 years.
As a teacher, I think that it is very important to meet the needs of the whole child as well as their educational needs. I strive to show my students respect, honesty, kindness, and a kind heart at all times. In doing so, I have achieved many success moments with encouraging my students to meet their goals and objectives.
Furthermore, my current position enables me to provide my second language learner students with “fundamental reading skills” to enable better reading abilities. I am challenged to be creative, nurturing and most of all, patient with my students.
Teaching Style
I believe in using real life situations, scenarios, and actively using technology. I like to use life lessons to enable my kids to realize that I am humble person, and I truly want the best for them academically as well as student. I incorporate peer discussions, peer tutoring, exit slips out the door, and class discussions to actively engage my students through the content and the process of learning. In doing so, my plan is to get my students to open up about what they know about the content and share it with their classmates. As a result, my students are more engaged in demonstrating content and standards understanding because I allow my students to demonstrate their learning through the way in which they learn best.
