Experience Summary
I believe that all students can learn with a patient tutor. Many of my students find math frustrating but I have the ability to break all concepts down to the most basic elements and build from there. I also encourage questions and being comfortable asking questions to facilitate the learning experience. I have tutored math and history for years at all levels from middle school through college.
I have a bachelors degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and a masters degree from Rutgers University. I find it very rewarding to teach students and help them overcome their academic challenges. Many students struggle with math due to bad teaching or fear. My success lies in getting to the root of the issue and building from there. A calculus professor once told me that the only way you learn math is by doing math. Therefore, I encourage lots of practice to ensure that concepts are being understood by the student.
