Teaching Style
My name is Miss Margaret (bio) and I teach music lessons in your home, school, library, or child centered environment (Nassau and Suffolk County, NY). I am a teacher who fosters positive relationships with my students to create their environment more conducive to learning and to meet their developmental and musical needs. I provide structured music programs that gradually forms into an adaptable routine of fun, and engages the student the motivation to learn. My teaching approach begins with an informal observation of the student’s behavior when music and materials are presented, and throughout the lesson, I present myself as a positive role model, use consistency and direction to maintain the student on task, and to help build their self-esteem and confidence, and I always praise and reward for good work. But, most importantly, I am patient with all my students and accepting of their differences.
