Experience Summary
I graduated from Nazareth College of Rochester NY, with Master's in Education, majoring in Teaching English to Speakers for who English is not a native language. I am looking forward to finding tutoring opportunities as a New York State certified English as a Second Language and Literacy (ESL/ESLL) teacher, certified to teach/tutor students from K to 12 and adults.
Additionally, I would like my future students to know that my native language is Russian. I graduated from the State Pedagogic University in Kishinev, Moldova, majoring in Russian language and literature. For many years I taught Russian to both native and non-native Russian speakers. I am passionate about teaching Russian to students ages 5 to 85
Teaching Style
As a language teacher, I believe in integrated learning. I use strategies to teach all four language skills and culture of the targeted language every lesson. I also think that learning vocabulary is as important as learning listening, speaking, reading and writing. I work with my students on accent reduction as it has lately become a part of the language proficiency test. I customize my lesson courses to meet the needs of every particular student.
