Experience Summary
I am currently a professional freelance Japanese translator. I have over ten years of classroom experience in both Japan and the United States. I worked as a English teacher in Japan as well as a school administrator, and I have taught ages 1-18 in various public and private schools, small groups, and one-on-one. I have near-native Japanese ability, and I translate documents from Japanese into English on a daily basis, as well as write subtitles for Japanese documentaries, advertisements, and television shows. I can offer language instruction based on the methods I learned in the ten years I was a resident in Japan. Aside from that, I can also offer an in-depth look at the cultural aspect of Japanese language-learning. Japanese is about more than grammar and vocabulary.
