Experience Summary
I have taught Spanish in Texas for 13 years. I have lived out of the country in Mexico and attended the Universidad de Guanajuato in Guanajuato, Mexico and CEDIE language school in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. I have visited numerous Spanish speaking countries and am familiar with many dialects of Spanish. My Spanish degree is concentrated on Espanol Estandard, which is the academic Spanish language. I can teach in a wide variety of teaching styles and will accomadate each individual learner.
Teaching Style
I incorporate reading, writing, speaking and listening, so that all areas of the language are equally developed. I like to use visuals and flashcards to represent Spanish vocabulary to enhance natural learning. I use the phonetic alphabet to help with correct pronunciation so that students may pronounce and learn words on his/her own once the alphabet sounds are mastered. Ultimately, I will modify sessions depending on the kind of learner and area of need that is specified by each student.
