Experience Summary
Currently, I work as a Museum Assistant at the Yager Museum of Art & Culture in Oneonta, New York. As a museum assistant, I perfect my verbal communication skills, anticipate others' wants and needs, and take initiative in assisting museum visitors. I've also lent my creativity and excellent writing to The Mommy Dash and Hilltops, or Hartwick College's newspaper. From my employment history, I've built strong leadership skills and gained a strong need to work and constantly better myself. I believe these traits qualify me as a strong tutor, as I've learned to communicate effectively with children, discern their strengths and weaknesses, and encourage them to progress at their own pace. I have tutored children for three years in such subjects as English, math, and science. If given the chance, I believe I can help your child become a stronger student.
Teaching Style
I focus more on individual progress than grades. I think it's important for tutors to help students work at their own pace, develop stronger study skills, and build confidence in order to achieve academic success.
My Hobbies
I enjoy drawing, writing, playing the saxophone, and running cross country and track.
