Experience Summary
My GPA at Ohio University was 3.9 in Latin Major. I have 18 years of Experience as a Certified Secondary Instructor in the State of Ohio. I have taught as many as four H.S. Levels of Latin. My classes have focused significantly on vocabulary, grammar, translation and sentence structures. Nor have my classes been without segments on Classical History, Classical Mythology, and Classical influences in art, architecture, science and our legal system. Special attention has always been devoted to broadening English vocabulary.
Teaching Style
As a tutor, one must discern the issues of the individual student and devise a plan of action to develop and strengthen the skills necessary for academic success. There is firm belief in the idea that experience is the best teacher, and my techniques involve practice and repetition as a method to build and strenthen a foundation critical for understanding, achievement and advancement.
Other Comments
Although my experience goes back many years, I nevertheless maintain a passion for this subject. The study of the Latin language can be a building block for greater understanding of the basics in an enormous variety of fields of study.
