Experience Summary
I have been around teaching my entire life. My mother is a fourth grade teacher and I have loved learning how she likes to teach and how her teammates like to teach as well. I help her grade all the time and love getting to help the kids out when I am home from school. I started working in a church nursery when I was 11 and continued on until I left for college when I was 18. I have worked with age levels newborn-8th grade. I also had a job at an inflatable party place for two years. I have been a nanny for a few different families over the years starting in 2009. The past family that I worked with consisted of me helping them do their homework and getting them motivated. I am currently working on getting a History degree at Colorado State University. This past month, I passed my Praxis test which allows me to be a licensed teacher when I graduate from CSU. I am in the STEPP teaching program and have worked at Blevins Middle School in eighth grade and Webber Middle School in sixth grade. I am going on to Loveland High School next semester to gain more experience in high school. This past summer I traveled to Rome to study abroad and have been all over Europe giving me a lot of knowledge about European history. My focus is in WWII in Europe. I thoroughly enjoy history and I love learning about the 20th century. I am a senior and will graduate in Fall 2013.
Teaching Style
I believe in helping the child succeed by helping them to find their interests. I would love to get to know them so I can bring in different ways of presenting the information to them.
My Hobbies
I love to ski, read, hang out with my family and friend, and travel.
