Experience Summary
I have over thirty years experience teaching Theatre and Language Arts for public and private educational and performance organizations, including elementary school through junior college classes, and a mime/movement class at Yale University. I have studied at UCLA, San Francisco State University, the Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven CT, and the New School for Social Research in New York City. I've also participated in workshops and performance opportunities with trainers in the styles of Bolivia's Augusto Boal, Sanford Meisner, and the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival. Drama and English students of mine have had widespread success in furthering their educations and careers.
Teaching Style
I'm a fairly intense and mellow person. Focus on specifics comes from an understanding of the goals and overall needs of a given project. Who's my audience and what details do I need to gather to make my point or reveal my position? I prefer leading students to answers using questioning and on-your-feet-experience.
