Experience Summary
14 + years as an Educational Assistant. I have attended workshops in reading and writing. I have attended bi-monthly professional development classes instucted by the school district's Reading Recovery teacher. I have worked with teachers in classrooms implementing lesson plans to meet the individual needs of students in the areas of reading, writing and math. I have conducted various reading assessments such as the DRA ( Developmental Reading Assessment) and the QRI (Qualitative Reading Inventory). I also have assessed students in areas of Known Words, Onset and Rhyme, Sight Word Recognition, Concepts of Print and other areas.
In math I have tutured in high school Algebra 1. At the elementary level I have worked with students one to one and in group settings to work on various math skills and operations. I also worked several years in the summer school program aiding in the specific needs of students in the areas of reading, writing and math. One summer I was the assistant to the Reading Recovery instructor administering the DRA and performing other related duties to the needs of the students.
Teaching Style
I first assess the needs of the students and proceed with proper instruction to help them progress at their own pace. I like to make learning interesting, engaging and avoid raising any frustration level.
My Hobbies
When I can, I love to watch a good movie, read a good book or practice my piano.

I am seeking additional income to supplement my schoo position. I work approximately 8 months out of the and would like to increase my income by doing something I have knowledge and experience, that helps others and still allows me work in the position I have which I love.
