Experience Summary
For the past seven years I have worked full time as a job coach at Lexington Center for the Deaf Vocational Services Center in Jackson Heights, NY. I also volunteered in their Independent Living Center for two years prior to my employment with them. In 2010 I was a private tutor for a neighborhood adolescent, teaching him basic sign language to better help him communicate with his family, as he is unable to use his voice. I have also spent time volunteering at the Helen Keller National Center for DeafBlind Individuals, where I received training to become a certified Supported Service Provider (SSP). Occasionally I also work with the New York Parent Network to provide interpretation for their various workshops and events. I also volunteer often with New York Deaf Theater, as I also have a strong background in and love for theater.
