Experience Summary
You see my degree, McPherson is a very traditional liberal arts college so I have what would qualify as a minor in Social Studies at almost any other university. I am the mom and aunt of dyslexic children, I know the struggles....I've been through the tears and hours of homework. There is no "quick fix" but we can experiment and find what works for you. We need to discover your individual gifts and most effective learning styles first then use those skills to gain confidence and begin improve on the skills that are not so strong. If you have given up we need to find your motivation. My son at thirteen was ready to quit life, in one year we turned it around and he became an A/B student and loved school and life.
Teaching Style
Every child is different I think it's first important to take time to build trust and figure out your learning style. in the meantime we have to peddle through the school assignments as well I know we won't sacrifice the semester and I won't make you do assessments or at least not lots of them. just by learning what you like to do and what you are already good at we can start to find some creative ways to make learning fun again.
