Experience Summary
I am an upper level accounting student who will be entering the Master's program in Accounting and Taxation at FGCU during the Fall 2013 semester. I have a 3.95 GPA as well as a Bachelor's Degree in English from Stony Brook University. I have tutored Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting III and Accounting Information Systems. I have trained others within the workplace including teaching Excel, Outlook, Word, Lotus Notes, SAP, Navision and AS400.
Teaching Style
I am a creative person and love to bring that creativity into the tutoring session. I create my own notes to explain the textbook concepts and my own problems that are similar to what the student will be tested on. I like to use index cards, poster board, and whatever else will help bring the concepts to life for the student. My explanations change depending on what life experience the student has. A person who has been in the business community for twenty years will have a different perspective than a nineteen year old who has never worked. The purpose of tutoring is to use what the student knows to help explain the concepts.
