Experience Summary
I have been a Microsoft Office developer for 10 plus years. My specialty is in developing stand-alone applications using MS Excel and MS Access. It is my desire to share my Visual Basic and Visual Basic Application language skills with those who want to learn. I am an avid reader and follow many of the writers of Microsoft products, such as John Walkenbach, Bill Jelen, Scott Baker, Charles Williams, Christian Albright, Steven Bullen, etc. I have a J.D. law degree and enrolled at Rutgers, Graduate School of Management for the study of Finance. I also took up computer programming at Dover Business College in its "top gun" programming course.
Following the completion of my programming certification at Dover Business College in Paramus, New Jersey, I landed a job with a Japanese insurance company as a report analyst. I was the sole contributor to many of its reporting applications using Microsoft Office applications, e.g. Excel, Access, Word and Outlook. These applications primarily extract data sets from the back-end databases and download them onto Excel and Access applications and be distributed via the Outlook application to the intended recipients. The "loss runs" contain claim information and financial data of claims under, in most cases, a policy and a set of policies. They contain essential information for the readers on which business decisions are made.
It is my desire to teach and tutor anyone who has the desire to learn the fundamentals of the Microsoft Office applications and the Visual Basic Application language that drive these applications.

Teaching Style
For all my tutoring and teaching assignments, before committing myself to the instruction, I will chat with the prospective students to find out their learning objectives. Depending on their lesson needs, be it for career advancement, work-required, academic related, I will write up a customized learning objective or for lengthier lessons, a syllabus.
By doing so, the students can best gauge their progress and stay on a more discipled course of study. The objectives, of course, may be revised if need be.

| I am a native Cantonese speaker and attended a Chinese school from age 4 to 14 whose curriculum emphasized in traditional Chinese language, e.g. Confucianism, Menjianism, Liji, Analects and other traditional Chinese philosophers, Chinese history, Calligraphy. All classes were conducted in Mandarin, the official language of China. So I am also proficient in speaking Mandarin. |
