Experience Summary
Currently teaching linguistics at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, I have also been teaching and tutoring English grammar and writing as well as ESL. Most recently I was involved in the English program that Northwestern offers its incoming Kellogg School international students (ACE Program) and the more general intensive English program that the Linguistics Department offers non-Kellogg graduate students from abroad (International Summer Institute). I have also taught abroad, in Japan, and I currently offer editing and writing services for fee.
Teaching Style
I work to address students' desires and needs and focus on those, encouraging students to perform. My attitude is more positive, looking for strengths and developing confidence and success, rather than spending a lot of time and effort on more technical details, which in any case can always be addressed as need arises.
My teaching has consistently received excellent reviews from both my peers and my students, who enjoy and profit my my style of engagement.
