Experience Summary
Taught Fine Arts at Agora Cyber Charter School. The virtual course
combines art history with a studio component. I am responsible for the online instruction of
180 high school students using Elluminate Virtual Classroom software. I interact with my
students and their parents on a daily basis via the internet and telephone. It is very exciting
to be a part of this innovative trend in education.
Teaching Style
I taught at AncillaeAssumpta
Academy where I helped create a dynamic art curriculum based on state and national
standards as well as assessment strategies for kindergarten through eighth grade. In my
course curriculums, I have taught digital photography (including how to use Adobe
Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator software), black and white pinhole photography and
development, printmaking, ceramics, textile art and acrylic painting. I have also worked
with faculty in the production of two major school shows assisting with costume design and
set creation as well as the design and development of class ads for the school show ad book
and school yearbook using Adobe Indesign software.
In addition to the skills I have gained in my positions as an art teacher, I have ten years of
experience as an interior designer and project manager. I developed and managed an
annual summer acrylic painting camp out of my home studio.
My Hobbies
Over the course of the past
two years I have continued to build my own portfolio in oil painting, exhibiting work in local
shows as well as with MamaCita, a local art collaborative. I have participated in fundraising
events for breast cancer, helping to raise almost $100,000 in the past three years. My
technical abilities in addition to those mentioned above, include a comprehensive
knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
