Experience Summary
I have years of experience working with students of various ages (9-55) and backgrounds (with regard to culture, language, and gender). I have several years of experience offering private tutoring lessons in Spanish, ESL, and Reading. I taught introductory Spanish courses at Ohio University for two years, one semester of ESL, and one year of introductory Spanish at Benedictine High School in Cleveland, Ohio. I hold a TEFL certification as well. In addition, I am currently a Ph.D. student in Latin American history with a minor in U.S. history at the University of Houston, so I am qualified to teach social studies and history for students in elementary school, middle school, high school, and beyond.
Teaching Style
I am very enthusiastic about the importance of high-quality educational experiences for all students. I am a patient, zealous, and creative tutor. I love teaching and I love working with students of all ages and backgrounds. I try different techniques and tailor my lessons to students' individual learning styles, preferences, and needs. I encourage learning through games, songs, flashcards, drills, repetition, help with homework assignments, test preparation, writing/reading/listening/speaking exercises, and more. It all depends on my client's needs and wants.
My Hobbies
I enjoy reading, running, working out, and cooking in my free time.
