Experience Summary
I have taught for 10 years in the field of Special Education. I taught on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona for my first three years. My classroom consisted of preschoolers with moderate to severe, multiple disabilities. After moving to Chicago, I helped develop and taught in a program for students with moderate cognitive disabilities at the high school level for 5 years. My current placement is in a public Montessori program, providing push-in/pull-out services to students with autism, mild cognitive disabilities, and learning disabilities. I have significant experience in behavior management, assistive technology, and professional collaboration. I have worked closely with therapists and psychologists to provide the best services for our students.
Teaching Style
I believe in focusing on the individual needs of each student to help them become as independent as possible both academically and socially.
