Experience Summary
I have been teaching in different areas and capacities for three years now. I started by teaching English to Korean students in Daegu, South Korea. Here I taught all different skill levels and ages. When I returned to the United States I began working at Sylvan Learning Center. I was responsible for running the center. Here I was trained in many of the Sylvan Learning methodologies and feel very comfortable in identifying obstacles that hinder a students progression. At which time I incorporate learning strategies that help them get over the "hump"
Teaching Style
My style is easy to get along with. I am friendly with my students but am able to keep the boundaries of the teacher student relationship in play at all times. I do not believe in giving students answers but rather leading them towards a natural discovery of the answers on their own.
My Hobbies
Exercise, reading, listening to music, playing sports, camping, hiking, traveling
Other Comments
I am a very patient teacher. Many times this is exactly what is needed when both students and parents feel like they are at the end of the line. Sometimes, it just takes a different approach to get a students goals accomplished.
