Experience Summary
I have been teaching grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade for 5 years. I have received my masters degree in literacy K-12 and love teaching students how to become better readers. I have taught 2nd and third grade in Norfolk, Virginia as well as Kindergarten and second grade in Florida. I have taught all subjects including spelling, writing, reading, phonics, mathematics, science, and social studies. I would love to tutor students over the summer because I know as a teacher that students who struggle during the school year often fall behind during the summer months. Let's bridge that gap and move ahead!
Teaching Style
The most important part of teaching a student is knowing a student. I give students basic assessments in the beginning to find out their strengths and weaknesses in order to remediate their areas of difficulty. I try my best to make learning fun with games, hands on activities, and books of interests.
