Math AIS provides intervention services to math students grades K-5. Students I worked with were in need of extra math assistance and scored a level 1 or 2 on the NYS Math Standardized Assessments. In these sessions, students would learn other strategies in all areas of mathematics to enforce the core teacher's instruction in the classroom.
I currently work as a third grade teacher teaching all subjects.
Reading Instruction-focuses on the 5 Essential Elements of Reading: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension.
I am also a member in several committees in the district to help implement the Common Core Standards that will be in place September 2012. I am extremely familiar with the changes in the standards, education, and high expectations that the students will face.
