Experience Summary
As a basic literacy tutor and tutor trainer for over 20 years, I have a passion for helping people learn to read and write well. My background as a technical writer has given me a good grasp of grammar and writing structure. I have worked with a variety of people, ranging from children in the first grade to PhD subject matter experts. Each person requires a unique approach and a recognition of their individuality.
Teaching Style
Teaching should be interactive; learners need a chance to do activities so they can practice and they need to demonstrate what they have learned.
My Hobbies
Vintage swing dancing is great fun and good exercise. I love to dance the lindy hop, Charleston, and Balboa. I like west coast swing because it uses modern music.
