Experience Summary
I have taught for over twenty years in private and public high schools; additionally, I have had the opportunity
to teach community college, ESL students, and the Philadelphia Police Force. As a department chair, I have been responsible for developing curriculum for the entire English Department as well as serving on curriculum committees throughout the diocese of Philadelphia to accomodate the Standard-Based learning.
I have trained my colleagues how to integrate computer-based learning in their daily classrooms and encouraged
them to stay current regarding the science of educating today's multi-media involved student.
Teaching Style
Over the years, my style has evolved, going from teacher initiated instruction to student-interest based assessments, which have allowed me to gain the full attention and participation of the class as a whole.
By determining what the students know, what they want to know, and finally, their specific learning style
I can adjust curriclum to include teaching stratgies they will address these goals while presenting the
"standards" simultaneously. Teaching is an Art.
