| I teach the tools and skills to draw from life, from foundation level to advanced. Working from still life, the landscape and possibly any subject matter that interests the student, we will learn how to translate what we see into convincing and successful renditions in graphite pencil, charcoal, or pastel. We'll start with basic drawing skills, developing proportion, shading and composition and move on to tackling ambitious projects, capturing a convincing sense of light, and playing with the poetics of drawing. One-on-one attention is given in a supportive and creative atmosphere. |

We'll start with basic painting skills, developing acurate measurement, understanding color, edge, and composition, and move on to tackling ambitious projects, capturing a convincing sense of light, and playing with the poetics of painting.
