I am a native Spanish speaker with extensive tutoring experience.
I also have an impeccable track record of success, having served in decision-making positions in the Financial Services Industry while also working as a translator and/or utilizing my Spanish speaking skills in many other past ventures. At El Mensajero newspaper, I was responsible for print and on-line content translations while also translating articles in topics such as sports, politics, finance and legal issues. In addition, I have also been involved in tutoring Spanish AP classes for high school students in Santa Clara county.
My command of English and Spanish languages and my diverse work experience makes me familiar with idiomatic and formal usage, and highly accomplished at handling technical vocabulary. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American Studies with a minor in Business Administration, while I am currently working in my post-graduate degree in Applied Economics.
My approach with tutoring is to learn and have fun at the same time, which is why I have designed and composed thematic units that are aligned with Spanish AP programs and current high school curriculum. I have also collaborated with students on daily lesson plans, learning strategies, and student performance. More importantly, I continuously make adjustments to adjust to the student's pace and provide individual attention for students based on student assessments and individual skill sets. However, to ensure ultimate success, I constantly evaluate progress to ensure students remain on track with the program and are prepared for the Advanced Placement exam if necessary.
