Experience Summary
I taught English as a second language to adults in Fes, Morocco for two years and taught kindergarten through high school in Seoul, Korea for 10 years. As a private tutor, I have worked with business and academic professionals in the following areas: accent reduction, grammar, writing, and conversation. I have also worked with numerous elementary, middle, and high school students to improve their English skills. I ran an English immersion program for Korean kindergarten students which followed an American first-grade reading/writing curriculum.
Teaching Style
I have high expectations of my adult students, but am understanding of the limited time most have. Therefore, I try to maximize class time and try to be flexible with scheduling. For my younger students, I prepare engaging lesson plans to foster a genuine interest in the subjects taught. All classes receive a monthly syllabus, and I track progress in order to give accurate feedback and to tailor lesson plans specifically to the student.
