Experience Summary
I have substitute taught for 2 years in all grades. I must be flexible, creative and outgoing while constantly adapting to new surroundings. I excel at drawing, writing and reading. I have my BA in art. I studied printmaking at Pacific Northwest College of Art and finished my degree at PSU. I have my master's degree in early childhood and elementary education. Teaching Style
Everyone learns in different ways so it's important to me that I get to know the students first. That way I can differentiate the lessons for each student. I have also learned that students are more engaged when it's a subject matter that they care about. Of course it's not realistic that this will always be the case. Sometimes you have to learn things that you are not interested in, but approaching these subjects from the way in which the student learns best, based on Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences, can make learning not only possible, but maybe even fun.
My Hobbies
Art, specifically drawing and printmaking, reading, hiking and tennis.
