Experience Summary
Taught undergraduate courses in Introduction to Psychology, Motivational Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Social Psychology, and Brain and Behavior. Taught in R1 and Private Liberal Arts institutions. Tutored undergraduate English, Writing (particularly resume/CV), Psychology, Sociology, and Statistics.
I am a teaching consultant and have spent an appreciable amount of time leading trainings that teach a wide range of people (i.e., from paraprofessional to doctoral level) how to teach others, particularly residents of inpatient psychiatric facilities.
I have an academic appointment as an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Missouri School of Medicine and I am the Clinical Leader of the Social Learning Program at Western State Hospital in Tacoma, WA.
Teaching Style
Experiential. According to the IDEA system of assessing teaching style, I learned that a particular strength of mine is related to the use of multiple resources in the form of practical applications to improve understanding of the significance of the subject matter. This process facilitates learning and solidifies an understanding of how the learned materials are potentiated in real-world applications.
Other Comments
In addition to tutoring academic material, I have experience providing clinical supervision to a range of professional disciplines such as Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist, and Practical Counselor. I have an active license to practice Clinical Psychology and professional liability insurance. Therefore, I can provide supervision geared toward obtaining licensure in certain professional fields. The service price for providing supervision is more than providing tutoring. Please inquire about pricing if interested.
