Experience Summary
I graduated from Spring Arbor University with a BA in English-Writing. Throughout my classes, I have honed the skills of writing and communicating effectively, whether it be creatively or analytically, as well as expanded my knowledge of literature by taking classes such as Shakespeare and 20th Century British Literature. I am a very well-read person who has a leaning toward classic authors such as Bronte, Dumas, and Hemingway. I completed a senior honors thesis, which was 70 pages of analyzing the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and continuing my own creative project, a novel in the making. This honors thesis received the Marsha Daigle-Williamson Award in English in May 2011. To go along with my English degree, I acquired a minor in History while at Spring Arbor University, which led to me tutoring an American History course. Along with this, I have published short storied and poems in small anthologies put out by Spring Arbor University, and I am going to soon be published for an analytic paper in The World Literary Review put out by Texas Southern University. I recently finished a full-length novel entitled, The Wanderer, a young adult fantasy adventure, and I am now in the next stages of looking for an agent or publisher. Other Comments
I have a passion for the written word. It has the power to communicate and grip the hearts and minds of others, whether it be creative, instructional, or analytic. It is also something that must be developed within all of us, but this takes time and practice as well as knowledgeable support and training.
