Experience Summary
I have had experience in the classroom teaching the three major sciences (physics, chemistry, and biology) at the high school level and also did an apprenticeship as part of a graduate program for UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. My combined experience allows me to construct learning models based on analysis of individual students. The information I obtain through working with students allows me to better choose an appropriate teaching approach. I have worked as a math and science interventionist for an elementary school and have been a substitute teacher in every field of education including special education. I am able to quickly adapt to any education setting and deliver focused instruction based on either prescribed methods or a pedagogy derived from years of experience.
Teaching Style
I have worked in a wide variety of socioeconomic school settings, which makes me quite versatile when it comes to my approach to teaching. I start from the ground-up, first forming a cognitive scaffold for a subject by teaching the very basics. From there we branch off into more and more complex tasks. I have experience with graphic design and animation programs and love to use technology aids whenever possible. When all else fails I draw upon knowledge the student already possesses and attempt to form analogous models that are easier to understand.

I am an amateur violin player and love to work with computers.
