Experience Summary
As an engineer who's gone the route of a master's degree, I've had to learn new information as well as old methods in math very quickly, I've worked with disadvantaged youth and had some experience tutoring and counseling children and know that each student has their own rate of learning and sometimes it's important to outline how to solve a problem and let them work it out on their own, but other times it's important to explain the underlying principles behind a process. I've also had three publications including my thesis and I feel that's given me a degree of thoroughness that will be helpful to anyone I help.
Teaching Style
I firmly believe that everyone can learn, one thing that I've taken in from my own experience is that some children who seem bored may actually need an example of how math is used in the real world, also, remaining positive and constructive while teaching is important as it may turn students away from a topic if an instructor at the least doesn't notice they've jumped a gap they were having trouble with beforehand, but it's also important to continue on after as each student is adhering to their own deadlines.
